Job Title:    (Recreation) Site Supervisor

Department:  Recreation

Reports To:   Recreation Program Coordinator

Status:      Part Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Wage Scale:  $16.48

Close Date:   July 22ⁿᵈ, 2025

Hours:      Hours may vary (typically late afternoon starting at 4:00 and various Saturdays)


Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing on-site supervision for City Sponsored recreation activities and/or programs, such as: basketball, baseball, tennis, softball, football, and a variety of other activities; Evaluate and mentor sports officials; Assist the Recreation Coordinator(s) with their assignments, as necessary; Ensure that safety practices are enforced throughout all recreation activities; Initiate the daily implementation of activities to assure timely delivery, and superiority, of scheduled events, classes/clinics, league play, and programs; Mediate complaints from coaches, activity specialists, recreation assistants and temporary or volunteer personnel; Assist with the necessary maintenance/up-keep with Park and Recreation Facilities; and other duties as assigned by the Recreation Program Coordinator, and/or Recreation Manager.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•  Knowledge of theory and philosophy of recreation and ability to interpret this philosophy to others

•  Knowledge of methods and techniques of supervision, training, and motivation

•  Skilled in organization, development, and maintenance of comprehensive community recreation programs

•  Ability to work well with others

•  Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, reach with hand and arms, talk, hear, see, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands to grab and handle or feel and lift 25-50 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moderately quiet in- office settings, and occasionally to outside weather conditions. Occasional moderately strenuous physical labor may be required.


Minimum Qualifications:

•  Must have a valid Utah Driver’s License

•  Must be 18 years of age or older

•  High School Diploma or GED, and

•  Six (6) months of related experience; or

•  An equivalent combination of education and experience
