Description

Women in Business Summit
The Davis Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Summit is an inspiring annual event that brings together more than 200 women from across Davis County and beyond for a day of connection, professional growth, and community impact. This year's Summit will be held on Thursday, November 19, at the Weber State University Davis Campus, where women from a variety of industries will gather to learn, network, and celebrate one another.
Attendees will hear from three dynamic keynote speakers who will share insights on leadership, personal and professional growth, and making a meaningful impact. Throughout the day, participants will have opportunities to build new relationships, exchange ideas, and leave feeling empowered to lead in their businesses, organizations, and communities.
The Summit also features a meaningful service project, bringing attendees together to give back to a local nonprofit and demonstrate the power of women supporting one another. Whether you're an established leader, an entrepreneur, or just beginning your professional journey, the Women in Business Summit offers an uplifting and collaborative experience designed to inspire, connect, and strengthen women throughout our community.

Speakers

Natalie Gochnour

Natalie Gochnour serves as an associate dean in the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah, and as director of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute. She served in the administrations of three Utah governors – Bangerter, Leavitt and Walker – and was a political appointee in the George W. Bush administration. She authors regular columns in Utah Business magazine and the Deseret News and co-hosts the weekly radio program Both Sides of the Aisle on KCPW.

Sarah Frei

In July 2020, at 17 years old, Sarah Frei became paralyzed from the waist down and lost both of her legs after a head-on collision with a drunk driver. After three months in the hospital and more than 20 surgeries, she faced the challenge of rebuilding her life.

Today, Sarah is a teacher who brings resilience, creativity, and compassion into her classroom. Through her journey, she has remained strong and positive, and believes that no matter your circumstances, everyone has the ability to make the world a better and brighter place.

Kristy Pack

Kristy Pack is the Founder of Pack Tax in North Ogden, Utah—a tax firm revolutionizing the industry by bridging the gap between do-it-yourself tax software and expensive CPA firms. Under her leadership Pack Tax was just recognized as one of Utah’s Fastest Growing Companies for the third consecutive year.

Kristy opened Pack Tax while she had 3 children still in diapers. Within 7 years she grew the company from zero clients to over 10,000 clients (and 8 physical locations), all with no acquisitions or outside funding.

Kristy’s catalyst to expand Pack Tax was her desire to help empower underemployed women. She has met and recruited her team members in a variety of ways – at PTA, at the cash register, and while at the gym. As she meets phenomenal women who are underemployed, she has
worked to create opportunities for them to shine and make real money.

Pack Tax has earned numerous awards, including 2 times Best of State for all accounting firms in Utah and recognition by the Utah Governor’s Office as one of 100 Companies in Utah Championing Women.

In addition to founding Pack Tax, Kristy helped found 2 other businesses with her husband, Jared– Maven Thread, a high-end athleisure brand (www.maventhread.com) and Engage Wellness, an employee benefits company (www.engagewellness.org). They had successful exits with both businesses, including one 7-figure exit.

Kristy is deeply dedicated to community impact, embedding philanthropy into her business models, with her companies contributing over $100,000 to local causes.

Kristy holds an undergraduate degree in teaching from Brigham Young University (where she was a Heritage Scholar) and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Utah. As part of her studies she completed prestigious internships with the United States Senate in
Washington, DC and with the US Mission to NATO in Brussels, Belgium. During her education she also studied at the BYU Jerusalem Center, lived in both Ukraine and Mexico as a volunteer English teacher and served as a full-time church missionary in Moscow, Russia.

Kristy currently serves as an Honorary Commander at Hill Air Force Base and as the President of the North View Business Alliance. Last spring, Kristy was honored as a 40 Under 40 by Utah Business Magazine. She is a mom, stepmom, PTA volunteer, and she enjoys parties, Diet Coke, and Taylor Swift.
