Thank you for inviting the Davis Chamber of Commerce Lakesiders Ambassador group to be part of your Ribbon Cutting celebration!
We’re excited to support you and want to ensure your event is both successful and memorable. Below are a few helpful guidelines and tips as you begin planning.
WHO WE ARE
The Lakesiders are a group of local business professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who volunteer their time to represent the Chamber and support businesses throughout Davis County.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A typical ribbon-cutting ceremony includes:
- A warm welcome from the Davis Chamber of Commerce President
- Brief remarks from your city’s mayor or another local official
(No need to reach out—we’ll contact your city on your behalf to invite their attendance.)
- A short statement from you, the business owner or manager—this is a great opportunity to share your story, recognize VIPs, thank supporters, and introduce your team
- Introduction of the Lakesiders and presentation of a certificate from the Lakesiders Chair
- The ribbon is held by Lakesiders, with the official ribbon cutting done by you and your team—smiles and photos encouraged!
We’ll take plenty of pictures and share them on the Chamber website and social media platforms to help promote your business. Ribbon Cuttings are a valuable perk of Chamber membership, and we want to make yours as impactful as possible.
WHAT THE CHAMBER AND LAKESIDERS PROVIDE
- Ribbon and ceremonial scissors
- A commemorative certificate presented by the Lakesiders to mark this special occasion
- Outreach to our Chamber community and promotion through Chamber social media platforms
- On average, 10–15 Lakesiders in attendance
LAKESIDERS PINS
Many businesses choose to create custom commemorative pins for the Lakesiders to collect. These are not required, but they are a fun and meaningful way for our Lakesiders to remember your event and represent your business proudly for years to come.
If you’d like to provide pins, we suggest planning for 15–20 pins.
REFRESHMENTS
You’re welcome to serve whatever type of refreshments you like—from light snacks to a full lunch.
If your event is during the lunch hour, please plan to offer a light meal, as many attendees will be using their lunch break to support your business.
SCHEDULING BEST PRACTICES
To ensure the best possible attendance, we recommend the following:
Preferred Days: Monday - Friday
Best Time Slots:
- Mondays: Between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM
- Tuesday - Thursday: Between 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM
